Lionel Andres Messi born 24 June’87 is a Argentinean football super star who plays forward for the Spanish Club FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team. He captains the national team of Argentina.
Lionel Messi at the age of 21 had received recommendations for Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year. By the time he was 24, he was named Barcelona’s top scorer in the history of all official club competitions. Messi became the youngest player when he was 25 to score 200 goals in La Liga’s Matches.
Lionel Messi is the first football star in the history of soccer to win four FIFA/Ballon d’Or and he won them all one after the other. Messi is also the first one to win three European Golden Shoe awards. He also holds the record of most hat-tricks scored in a competition.
Messi made history by becoming the first player to score 5 goals in one match during Champions League held in March 2012. He won his first international honor an Olympic Gold Medal. Messi’s playing style and physique have drawn comparisons to compatriot Diego Maradona, who himself affirmed Messi his successor.
